XitCal Help
XitCal lets you migrate your Lotus Notes 5
and above calendar entries to Microsoft Outlook.
HELP
You must have Outlook 97 or above and Lotus
Notes 5 (client, server not mandatory) or above installed on your system to use
XitCal. You
can not convert files if you do not have both programs loaded.
Testing this application
There is an option called Write to
Folder under the heading Outlook
mailbox options which is set to to
subfolder of default mailbox and the folder is
set to XitNotes Top Level Export
Folder. This specifies that XitNotes writes all
of your Lotus Notes data to an outlook subfolder. For testing
purposes you may easily delete the whole folder to remove the
test export data. Eventually if you decide to purchase you can
export to the top level folder if you want all Lotus Notes
inbox information to go directly into the Calendar folder.
If you export to a subfolder you must make sure you can view folders in Outlook -
the option menu View - Folder List should be selected (may be
a different menu option in some versions of outlook).
In demonstration mode the program
will currently export a all records but not the subject. The
subject will be replaced with text indicating a non licensed
demo mode was performed.
All exported mail will be dropped in to this
folder so you can test to make sure you are happy with the
result and that it works in your environment.
Using this application
1) You need to purchase a license (Contact
us via email).
2) You need to load the software
3) Mail File - By default
your mail database will be specified. To specify any other mail
file choose the Select Mailbox
button.
4) Do a test export (optionally specify a
folder name
in the Write to folder option)
5) Choose Export
Now and you will be prompted to register your
mailbox database for export. Registering allocates a mailbox
license to that mail file. If you have multiple licenses you
may pre register databases before exporting by choosing the Register
Mailbox button after selecting a database. This means you don't
need to be connected to the internet and export later.
That is it for a basic export!
How to make Outlook the default mail
client (At least temporarily)
